LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested a convicted sex offender after he paid a 15-year-old to take off his clothes.
According to an arrest report, the incident took place on the north side of the Louisville Free Public Library, near the corner of S. 3rd Street and York Street.
Police say they were called to the scene on a report that a 15-year-old had been approached by a man who had offered him money to take his clothes off.
When they arrived, they spoke with the suspect, 53-year-old James Doolan, a convicted sex offender, who allegedly told officers that he'd offered the boy $5, and that the juvenile had told him that he was 17.
According to the arrest report, the juvenile told officers that he had actually been paid $15, and that he "only took his shirt off."
Police say Doolan showed them images of a male's chest on his phone.
Doolan was arrested and charged with failing to comply with terms of the sex offender registry.
According to the online sex offender registry, Doolan has been convicted of first degree sexual abuse in the past. The victim in that case was 12, according to the online registry.
The juvenile victim in this case was a runaway, according to the arrest report. The Louisville Metro Police Crimes Against Children's Unit was contacted.
