LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A teacher and softball coach from Kentucky Country Day school appeared in court Tuesday morning on child pornography charges.

Matthew Graves stayed quiet during his arraignment. His lawyer did all the talking, and entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

Graves is charged with one count of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

The judge ordered Graves, 38, not to have any contact with minors or any electronic devices. Police say he used a mobile app, KIK, to send and receive pictures of young children involved in sex acts.

Police say the messaging took place "on numerous occasions" in December 2014.

Graves' bond was set at $5,000 cash. His next court appearance was scheduled for Feb. 19.
