LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- In addition to chasing bad guys, the Bardstown Police Department is chasing a challenge and collecting water.

Bardstown Police Chief Rick McCubbin recently issued a challenge to his officers as part of a local campaign to collect and deliver water to people in Flint, Michigan.

The water there is considered toxic and contaminated with lead.

McCubbin says he was expecting several cases of water and overwhelmed with how his officers responded. He also said three more platoons are still collecting water.

In most cases, the officers are paying for the water out of their own pockets.
