Officials say Kentucky residents may have longer wait to receive tax refunds

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky residents may have to wait a bit longer for their state income tax refunds this year.

The Kentucky Department of Revenue says it might take longer to process refunds because of enhanced security features and fraud analysis tools.

The agency says refunds might take up to 21 days longer for people who filed electronically.

If paper forms were filed, it could take six to eight weeks.

Last year, 85 percent of refunds were filed electronically.
