LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Elizabethtown Police say they've arrested a woman who stabbed her husband with a steak knife after an argument over her child.
According to an arrest report, it happened on Monday, just after 6:30 pm., at an apartment complex on Westport Road, in Elizabethtown.
Police say they received a report of a domestic disturbance at the apartment. When they arrived, 23-year-old Jacqueline Cook allegedly told them that she'd just stabbed her husband with a steak knife.
Police say they found a bloody knife at the bottom of the stairs in the apartment.
Cook was read her Miranda rights, according to the arrest report, and agreed to tell police what had happened. She said she got angry with her husband because "he hindered her from visiting her child." When she saw him standing outside the apartment, she said she "lost it" and stabbed him somewhere in his upper left torso.
She said her husband then left, and she waited at the scene for police to arrive.
Police eventually contacted the victim, and learned that he did indeed have a stab wound on his left arm, just below the shoulder.
Cook was eventually arrested and charged with second degree assault. She was also served an arrest warrant for an additional assault charge, in connection with a separate incident that allegedly took place last month in which police say she stabbed her ex-boyfriend in the arm with a pocket knife.
She is currently being held in the Hardin County Detention Center.
