LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana's only confirmed Zika virus patient diagnosed herself.

Dr. Barbara Ihrke is the head of Indiana Wesleyan University's nursing school in Marion. She was teaching in Haiti last month when she contracted the virus through a mosquito bite.

She said she experienced, "headache, joint pain, then on Thursday the 28th of January, I had rash that came all over from my face and legs, my arms, my trunk."

Ihrke says she doesn't regret her trip to Haiti and was never afraid or concerned.
