Walgreens to sell heroin OD remedy without prescription
A drug that can counteract a heroin overdose will soon be available without a prescription.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A drug that can counteract a heroin overdose will soon be available without a prescription.
Walgreens will start selling Naloxone at its pharmacies in Indiana and Kentucky. Officials say Naloxone will be available at Indiana stores by the end of the month.
The program will roll out state-by-state this year, selling them in 35 states and Washington D.C.
Naloxone can prevent an overdose by reversing the effects of heroin or other opioids.
