Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Substance abuse and mental health issues are affecting Indiana kids.

The 2016 Kids Count data was just released. It showed 13.4 percent of Indiana's children have lived with someone who had a drug or alcohol problem. That is higher than the national rate of 10.7 percent and gives Indiana the 12th highest rate in the country.

Indiana also has the highest number of meth incidents in the U.S.

Stats also show Hoosier children suffer from mental health issues at a higher rate than their peers nationally.
