LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana has seen an increase in murders among children and teens, according to the results of a 2016 Kids Count study.

The Indiana Youth Institute says the number of homicides for people 19 and younger increased from 35 in 2012 to 65 in 2013.

Just over 73 percent of those deaths were in Marion, Lake and Allen counties. Those are the counties with the largest number of people.

Officials are calling the statistics alarming.
