The suspect was arrested Friday by the Attorney General's Cyber Crime Unit in western Shelby County.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man was arrested in Shelby County for seeking sex with a minor. Authorities say he went to Shelby County with his 4-year-old son for the meeting.
According to a news release from the Office of the Attorney General, 32-year-old Patrick Adam Small was arrested Friday by the Attorney General's Cyber Crime Unit in western Shelby County.
Small is charged with "one count of prohibited use of an electronic communication system for the purpose of procuring a minor for a sex offense."
He is also charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Investigators say Small came under investigation after he posted an online ad expressing interest in drug activity.
Officials say Small communicated online with an undercover investigator who was impersonating a minor. Investigators say the purpose of the communication was to give the "minor" methamphetamine before engaging in sexual activities.
Small was taken to the Shelby County Detention Center. His son was released to his mother.
