LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville sophomore forward Anas Mahmoud will miss the rest of the season after spraining his ankle in practice Monday.

U of L announced the move Monday night, saying Mahmoud's recovery time would be an estimated 3-6 weeks, and with just six games remaining for the Cardinals, he won't return this season.

Mahmoud has averaged 3.2 points and three rebounds per game this year in 14 minutes per game.

With junior forward Mangok Mathiang not expected to return this year either, freshman Raymond Spalding could get the bulk of the frontcourt playing time the rest of the year.
