LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A pair of dogs rescued by a garbage truck driver are ready to be adopted, but due to high demand there will be a raffle for the adoption rights.

Rumpke driver Gregory Curry rescued Sampson and Gregory (one of whom was named for Curry -- guess which one) from a box that was pushed up against a dumpster last Wednesday.

Two puppies in the box had frozen to death, but Curry grabbed the two puppies who were still alive and warmed them up in his truck.

The Humane Society took in the two dogs and named one of them for Curry. The organization will be holding a raffle due to the large amount of interest in Sampson and Gregory.

However, the Humane Society is urging everyone to consider other dogs and cats at the shelter also.

If you'd like to enter the raffle, you can submit an application by Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 6 p.m. here.
