LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The University of Louisville is opening a 3-D printing training center.

The on-campus training will teach people how to metal parts and other things associated with the technology.

"This is a place where our students will come, our engineering students, to innovate and to create new things," Dr. John Usher said.

The center will also focus on teaching safety practices to people in the industry.

"This facility puts the University of Louisville at the forefront of the advanced manufacturing movement," said U of L President James Ramsey. "Hundred os workers from across the country will be trained here in the next few years."

The university will use the center to offer mechanical professional certification for students.
