Trash cans in west Louisville double as free solar-powered Wi-Fi hot spots

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Trash receptacles in west Louisville are doubling as solar-powered 4G Wi-Fi hot spots.

The trash receptacles are now located on the corner of 25th and Market and 28th and Market near the TARC bus stop. They're part of the city's initiative to provide free Wi-Fi to west Louisville residents.

The waste units are a few blocks away from the future West Louisville FoodPort, which will locate food-related businesses in one place.
