LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- In newly released 911 calls, you can hear frightened drivers doing all they can to avoid a truck driver trying to mow them down.

The semi-truck driver was arrested after authorities say he "snapped" and began running other drivers off the road

Call after call came in to Bullitt County Dispatch of a the semi -- loaded with logs -- running people off I-65 early last Friday morning.

"I'm on Brooks Hill Road, and there's a truck driver who just ran me off the road. I'm right now in front of him, and he's trying to kill me," one caller said.

"Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! He caused a wreck! (Screams)"

Authorities say the driver of the truck was 50-year-old Danny Gonzalez, of Harlingen, Texas.

Gonzalez hit a truck, causing it to crash into a cable barrier, then got off at the Brooks exit (Exit 121) before going west on Brooks Hill Road, according to the news release.

At this point, Gonzalez allegedly ran a white Cadillac off the roadway, then intentionally rammed the Cadillac in the rear of the vehicle.

"This trucker's going down Knob Creek right now, and I'm telling you, he's almost taking out fences. He tried to run completely over this Cadillac, and I'm sure he's on the phone with police right now," another caller said.

One caller started following the semi trying to direct police so they could stop him.

The caller is still behind the semi when it eventually gets stuck in the mud. That's where police finally caught up with Gonzales at Top Hill Road and Goff Lane.

Gonzalez now faces wanton endangerment and criminal mischief charges. He's also being investigated for possible animal cruelty after a puppy was found in his  truck with her tail glued to her body.

He's currently in the Bullitt County Detention Center.
