LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a Scottsburg man three weeks after allegedly finding 28 pounds of marijuana in his residence.

According to a news release, troopers found the pot while executing a search warrant on Jan. 28 at a home in the 3700 block of East Plymouth Road in rural Scott County. The search warrant was the result of an investigation conducted by troopers of alleged drug dealing taking place at the residence.

During the search, officers located approximately 28 pounds of marijuana in an outbuilding near the residence.

A warrant was issued for 37-year-old Steven Sipe on Feb. 23, and he turned himself in to the Scott County Jail later that day.

Sipe is charged with maintaining a common nuisance, dealing in marijuana over 10 pounds and being a habitual offender.

Police say the marijuana had a street value of $50,000.
