HORSE CAVE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two people have been arrested on drug charges, and police say a toddler at the residence tested positive for meth.

45-year-old Clifford Judy and and 26-year-old Mary Smith were arrested at their apartment complex Feb. 20 in Horse Cave, Kentucky. One of the couple's two children tested positive for meth.

Horse Cave Police said they received numerous complaint calls about drugs in the couple’s apartment, leading up to their arrest.

Officials who run the low income housing complex where Smith and Judy lived, said they don't allow drugs.

"We're not going to tolerate any drug activity or any type of criminal activity at all," said Ruth Ann Sexton, Executive Director of the Horse Cave Housing Authority.

Melissa Wilson lives next door and said she would often babysit the couple's two young children.

"We always worried about the kids," said Wilson.  "But I didn't think, especially her, I didn't think she was doing anything like that."

Police said the couple admitted to using meth. Police also found spice, a synthetic drug, at the home.

They pair is charged with possession of meth and other drugs as well as drug paraphernalia.

Officers said the couple pleaded not guilty to the drug charges.

Authorities said additional charges related to the endangerment of the two children are pending.
