Survey: Cereal is too much work for many millennials

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new survey shows younger people are not eating as much cereal because they don't want to clean up.

Sales of breakfast cereals have fallen by about 30 percent over the past 15 years.

Forty percent of millennials say they skip the bowl of cereal in the morning because they don't want to clean up dishes afterward.

Others say it's inconvenient because they can't eat cereal while they drive or walk.

Americans still buy about 10 billion dollars of cereal each year.
