LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Sports talk radio in Louisville saw some movement today, when iHeart Radio’s 790 WKRD filled the morning-show slot vacated by Jody Demling last year with Howie Lindsey, who will move over from 93.9 FM.

The Howie Lindsey Show made its debut on 93.9 “The Ville” last August, and has been in the 10-noon time slot since then. Lindsey is the longtime editor of CardinalSports.com, the University of Louisville site on the Rivals.com network.

He’ll be joined twice a week by Matt Willinger, an assistant editor at CardinalSports.com, who sat in with Demling on the "Early Birds" show, and three days a week by WDRB’s Katie George, who expects to be in-studio with Lindsey on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The station also is adding a noon to 3 show to be hosted by Nick Coffey, founder of TheCardinalConnect.com. Coffey has hosted a daily sports talk show in southern Indiana on 1450 The Buzz.

“We’re very excited to expand our local sports coverage on Cards Radio 790 KRD," said Kelly Carls, Director of AM Programming for iHeartMedia Louisville, said in a release. "Mornings, middays and afternoons, we now have local sports fans covered with updates, insights, and compelling conversation about the teams and games that really matter.”
