SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Shepherdsville Police Officer shot someone Friday afternoon, after a witness says he was waving a gun around and putting it to his own head.

No officers were injured in the incident, but the victim was taken to University of Louisville hospital by ambulance. 

Police on scene said someone reported a man with a gun and shots fired just before 4:30 Friday afternoon. Officers arrived on scene minutes later, but officials won't say what happened next. 

A witness says he saw the man put a gun to his own head and wave it around. 

It happened near Nancy Drive, off Blue Lick Road in the northwest part of Shepherdsville. 

Kentucky State Police are investigating the case.
