RAW VIDEO | Louisville offense falters down the stretch in 73-65 loss to No. 12 Miami

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville and Miami came into Saturday's game tied for second in the ACC standings.

With three games left, it was a virtual must-win for the Cardinals, who's only remaining goal this season is the regular season conference crown.

And now with just two games left in their season, the Cardinals' close road loss has put that goal in serious jeopardy.

After leading by as many as eight in the second half, the Louisville offense lost its rhythm down the stretch, falling to No. 12 Hurricanes, 73-65.

After taking just a two-point lead into halftime, the Cardinals' defense turned it up a notch out of the break.

The Hurricanes missed nine consecutive shots at one point, and the lead quickly ballooned to eight.

But senior guard Angel Rodriguez led Miami back quickly. The 'Canes briefly regained the lead with four minutes to go, and added some insurance down the stretch.

Senior guard Damion Lee missed three of his 12 field goal attempts for six points. Sophomore center Chinanu Onuaku had 10 points, eight rebounds and six assists, but he took just one shot and didn't score in the second half.

The Cardinals missed 11 of their last 12 field goals to end the game.

U of L has two days off before returning home for senior night Tuesday at the KFC Yum! Center against Georgia Tech.
