Louisville man charged with attempted murder after shooting on 6th Street

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting that happened late Sunday night. 

According to the arrest report, it happened around 11 p.m. on Feb. 28 at 6th and Breckinridge. Police say officers were already in the area when they heard several gunshots and saw the shooting victim running southbound before falling on the sidewalk. 

Police say the victim was taken to University Hospital with several gunshot wounds. He was listed in stable condition after undergoing surgery. 

According to the arrest report, before being taken to the hospital, the victim identified his attacker as 38-year-old Demetrius Knox. Police say a witness also identified Knox as the shooter. 

Knox was arrested around 3 a.m. Monday and charged with attempted murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. His bond was set at $100,000 cash.
