LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It was a night for the home teams. All but one of the eight region quarterfinal games between girls 6th and 7th region teams went to the teams playing at home, the ones who earned those home games by winning disctrict titles last week.
Mercy was the lone dissenter, claiming a 61-55 win at North Bullitt behind 16 points and 7 rebounds from Danielle Feldcamp. That offset a 25 point night on 8-of-12 shooting from North Bullitt Senior guard Katie Downey.
Mercy will meet PRP, an 84-69 winner over Doss in Wednesday's 6:30 pm semi-final at Valley High School. The other 6th region semi will pit Butler, a 77-28 winner over Bullitt Central and Bullitt East. The Lady Chargers beat Fairdale 83-58. That's an 8:15 start at Valley Wednesday.
The 7th region games were not close. Male ran its record to 28-2 with a 80-49 win over Christian Academy. Kia Sivils and Kiki Samsel both had 17 and Grace Berger had 16 as Sacred Heart shot 58 percent from the field and beat Central 84-60. The Lady Bulldogs and Valkyries meet in a semi-final Wednesday at 3:30 at Valley.
Manual beat Assumption 55-33 and Eastern beat Waggener 92-19. They meet in the second semi Wednesday, 5:00 pm at Valley.
The Championship games are Saturday at 5:30 (7th) and 7:30 (6th) at Valley.
