LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The University of Louisville says there has been one confirmed case of mumps on campus.

Although a new policy at the university requires incoming students to have proof of immunization, officials said in a release that cases are still possible with the vaccination.

"The University of Louisville has been notified by the Jefferson County Department of Public Health that a UofL student who lives in affiliated housing has a confirmed, active case of the mumps. No other cases of mumps have been identified at the Campus Health Centers or reported to UofL."

Indiana University has reported five cases of mumps on its Bloomington campus, while three University of Kentucky students have tested positive for the disease.
