Kentucky bill allows officials to keep high school athletes out of games after concussion symptoms
Kentucky lawmakers have advanced a bill to protect high school athletes.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky lawmakers have advanced a bill to protect high school athletes.
The bill would allow high school sports officials to overrule coaches in deciding whether a player can return to a game after showing concussion symptoms.
State law already requires student athletes with possible head injuries to stop playing and undergo a medical evaluation. The proposal would let officials keep an athlete out of the game if they think the medical evaluation did not happen.
