LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Derby is months away, but there's a new book to help you get excited about the first Saturday in May.

The Kentucky Derby: Derby Fever, Derby Day and the Run for the Roses was unveiled at Carmichael's Bookstore on Frankfort Avenue Wednesday.

The book features nearly 200 pages of the race's history.

Readers can also download a special app to watch videos associated with the text. The feature is compatible with digital watermarks in the book.

"The book is a history, a look, and a feel of the Kentucky Derby. It's meant to make you look at the pictures and read the text and just imagine you've come to Louisville in the spring," The book's author, Bill Doolittle, said.

One of the featured videos associated with the book is dedicated to helping readers learn how to pick a Derby winner.
