UPDATE: Shelbyville Road reopened after pedestrian hit by vehicle

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Shelbyville Road reopened after a pedestrian was hit early Thursday. 

A MetroSafe supervisor says the person was hit about 4:45 a.m. near Flat Rock Road.  

One person has been taken to the hospital, but an Louisville Metro Police traffic unit was not called called to investigate. That unit is called, when an accident involves serious or life-threatening injuries. 

Shelbyville Road reopened just after 6:40 a.m. .
