Kentucky Transportation Secretary Mike Hancock resigns Thursday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Gov. Matt Bevin announced Thursday that Deputy Secretary Greg Thomas has been named acting Kentucky Transportation Secretary after  Mike Hancock submitted his resignation.

Thomas was appointed to deputy last month after previously working for LG&E. He was responsible for "safe, reliable and strategic operation of the statewide electric distribution system" at LG&E.

He lives in Louisville with his wife and two sons.

No reason was given for Hancock's resignation.
