Crestwood man accused of using messaging app to solicit sex with a child

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Oldham County man is accused of trying to have sex with a child.

Police say they started investigating Jeff Thorsberg, 62, after he started talking to an undercover agent in an online chatroom who he thought was a child.

Investigators say Thorsberg continued the conversation on a messenger app called KIK, where he asked the undercover agent to perform sex acts on him.

Police arrested him last week in Crestwood. He's charged with prohibited use of an electronic communication system for the purpose of procuring a minor for a sex offense.

He's out of jail on $10,000 bond.
