Clarksville Police arrest juvenile in connection with threat at Clarksville High School

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Clarksville Police say they've arrested the person responsible for an unsubstantiated threat that led to the temporary evacuation and relocation of Clarksville High School students and staff Thursday afternoon.

That person is a juvenile, and the police department has declined to identify them.

According to a statement issued this afternoon by Clarksville Community Schools, it started yesterday afternoon, when school administrators were notified about a threatening message written on the wall of a student restroom.

As a result, the students and staff at the school were temporarily relocated as the Clarksville Police Department and Clarksville Fire Department conducted an investigation. It was determined that the threat was unfounded.

"After a thorough investigation by school administrators, in partnership with the Clarksville Police Department, the student responsible for the threat has been detained and is in custody," the statement from Clarksville Community Schools reads. "According to the Clarksville Police Department, criminal charges will be filed. The security and safety of our students and our staff is our first focus and this type of action will not be tolerated."
