LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police discover a meth lab in a New Albany neighborhood.

Investigators were called out to the scene on West Market Street on Friday to clean it out and collect evidence.

Police discovered the meth lab Thursday night.

The New Albany Police Chief says the city tends to be a safe place, and stresses that drug busts like this one aren't common.

"It's a rare occasion that we have a laboratory in New Albany, but in the event that we do find one, we take it very seriously," Chief Todd Bailey said.

"Because obviously, the public's safety is very important."

Once the police investigation is complete, the case will be handed over to the county prosecutor.
