UPDATE | Jewish Hospital denies local lung transplant patient's appeal
Jewish Hospital's transplant committee deemed him too high risk for the procedure.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jewish Hospital refuses the appeal of a man desperate for a lung transplant.
We told you about Bobby Webb on Thursday, a Shelbyville man suffering from cystic fibrosis and in need of a second lung transplant.
Jewish Hospital's transplant committee deemed him too of a high risk for the procedure.
The 42-year-old man says he passed the necessary tests, and his doctor and surgeon want to put him on the transplant list.
Webb says the committee met again Friday afternoon without his surgeon and denied his appeal.
Hospital officials say they will help him try to find a willing transplant center.
