Jim Porter's Good Time Emporium torn down
A longtime Louisville night spot has been reduced to rubble.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A longtime Louisville night spot has been reduced to rubble.
Piles of cinder blocks and bricks are all that remain of Jim Porter's Good Time Emporium. The bar stood at the corner at Lexington Road and Grinstead Drive for 25 years.
It closed abruptly in June 2015 after the owner sold the property to MSD for $5 million.
The site will be used as part of a project to reduce sewer overflow in local waterways. MSD plans to build an underground, covered storage basin to protect Beargrass Creek.
