LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been arrested after police say he shot a man while robbing him.

According to the arrest report, it happened around midnight on March 1 in the 1900 block of Beech Street near Algonquin Parkway. That's where police say 19-year-old Talik Fitzpatrick confronted the victim with a gun and ordered him to "run those pockets." Police say Fitzpatrick pointed his gun at the victim's head as he handed over his wallet containing $500.

That's when police say Fitzpatrick fired several shots at the victim, striking him at least once before running away. Police say the victim was taken to Jewish Hospital in a private vehicle, where he was treated and listed in stable condition. The victim was able to give police a description of the gun and his attacker.

Police located a gun matching the description given by the victim not far from where the robbery occurred.

Fitzpatrick was arrested a few hours later near University Hospital on March 2. He's charged with robbery, assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
