City of Louisville tows pickup truck belonging to suspected illegal dumper

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Metro Louisville has taken another truck from a suspected illegal dumper.

The suspect is accused of dumping trash in an alleyway off Wilson Avenue in West Louisville -- and when police went to his home, officers say the suspect actually tried to leave before his pickup truck could be towed.

"We showed him the citation, and he denied that it was him," said Kedrick Stanfield, Compliance and Enforcement Supervisor.

Louisville Metro Police and officers with the Department of Public Works showed up at the suspect's home on Thursday afternoon. Officers say they have images of the suspect illegally dumping trash six times in west Louisville alleyways -- and that's why his car was towed.

He initially denied it was him, but changed his story when confronted with the pictures.

"He said it could have been some of his employees," said Stanfield. "Then when we showed him the images of him and his uncle dumping, he kind of agreed with us that it was him. It's hard to deny it then."

This is the fourth car the city has towed this year for illegal dumping.
