LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Speed Art Museum officially re-opened Saturday.

Visitors are getting their first look at the museum's new $60 million expansion and renovation. The museum was closed for three years to add new state of the art buildings, a cinema and an art park space.

The museum's director says the new look and space adds to Louisville's impressive support for the arts.

A ribbon cutting was held at 10 a.m.

The ribbon cutting kicks off 30 straight hours of tours, activities, film screenings and performances from groups, including the Louisville Ballet, Kentucky Opera and  Actors Theatre.

There is also a hip hop tournament scheduled Saturday that starts at 11:30 p.m.
