LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- (WDRB) -- The Irish are ready to get the party started.

Complete with bagpipes and plenty of green, the annual Saint Patrick's Day parade is today in the Highlands.

The Ancient Order of Hibernians will begin the parade at 3 p.m. at Baxter and Broadway. The parade ends at Mid City Mall.

Last year, as many as 100,000 people lined the parade route to catch beads and candy that was thrown to spectators.

Awards will be handed out following the parade at O'Shea's Irish Pub on Baxter Avenue.
