UPDATE: Police search for gunman after person shot on Indianapolis' northeast side; victim ran to mosque for help

INDIANAPOLIS (Fox 59) -- Police are searching for a gunman after a person was shot on the city’s northeast side.
The shooting occurred just after 10 a.m. in the 2200 block of East 38th Street. After the shooting, the victim ran to Muhammad Mosque No. 74 for help. The victim was taken to Eskenazi Hospital.
Police described the gunman as a black male with a boy haircut, about six feet tall, wearing a white shirt and khaki pants, and carrying an AK47.
Police originally told us the shooting occurred at the mosque, but upon further investigation, they discovered the shooting happened across the street from the mosque, and the victim ran to Muhammad Mosque No. 74 for help.
