Local Catholics march in Louisville for LGBT equality

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Local Catholics marched Sunday for LGBT equality.

Greg Bourke and Michael De Leon led the "Pilgrimage of Mercy."

They were lead plaintiffs in a Supreme Court Case that legalized gay marriage.

Now they, along with others at the march, are calling on Archbishop Kurtz to show mercy for LGBT people and their rights.

"We as Catholics should be accepting of everyone," Gerard Mattingly said. "That's what Christ models and what Christ is all about."

Archbishop Kurtz banned Bourke locally as a Boy Scouts Leader, despite the organization changing it's policy last year.

Bourke and De Leon, who grew up Catholic, say they are still strong in their faith.
