LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- More than a hundred people took part in the Louisville Startup Weekend, trying to take a business idea from start to finish in just 54 hours.
The goal is to bring together people of all ages who have an idea they want to pitch. The best ones are voted on, and then teams form around those ideas.
The competition is similar to the show Shark Tank.
One team made wooden accessories out of salvaged wood so it doesn't end up in a landfill.
"The whole entire idea has not only been thought of, but now it's in action, it's in motion, and we are on a journey to actually being successful," said William Murrell a participant in the competition.
The group CampassioNote had the winning idea, a business which notifies companies about their customers' life and death events so they can build stronger, more meaningful relationships.
