LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Never mind the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee. I did a better job of ranking the nation’s college basketball teams than the committee did – didn’t let anybody leak my picks.

For the final time this season, my ballot for the Associated Press college basketball Top 25 poll. The poll announced on Monday will be the final Top 25 of the season, but I reserve the right to rank the teams again next week.

1. Michigan State (29-5) – The committee says the Spartan are not a one-seed. The committee is wrong.

2. Kansas (30-4) – The committee says this is the team to beat. Could be.

3. North Carolina (28-6) – If Marcus Paige can keep his shooting stroke working, beware the Tar Heels.

4. Oregon (28-6) – Nobody is playing better than the Ducks, at least not on the West Coast.

5. Virginia (26-7) – The Cavaliers just don’t score enough to completely dazzle me. One seed? Prove it.

6. West Virginia (26-8) – The Mountaineers are my surprise pick for the Final Four.

7. Oklahoma (25-7) – Buddy Hield’s farewell to college basketball. He’s good enough to shoot the Sooners all the way to Houston.

8. Villanova (29-5) – I believe I’m about to be charged with anti-Big East bias.

9. Xavier (27-5) – See above.

10. Miami (25-7) – I’m picking the Hurricanes to upset Villanova. See above.

11. Kentucky (26-8) – I’ve already said the Wildcats deserved better than a four seed. (Read my column.)

12. Purdue (26-8) – If you’re looking for a sleeper pick, the Boilermakers qualify.

13. Indiana (25-7) – The Hoosiers are vulnerable if they’re not healthy.

14. Louisville (23-8) – The Cardinals would have likely been a four seed.

15. Utah (26-8) – I’m trying to forget the beatdown against Oregon.

16. Maryland (25-8) – The Terps have the talent but seem to be lacking something.

17. Texas A&M (26-8) – The Aggies are a nice club, but they’re not a three-seed.

18. California (23-10) – Everybody on the CBS Selection Show was gaga about the Bears.

19. Seton Hall (25-8) – Isaiah Whitehead has saved Kevin Willard’s career.

20. Arizona (25-8) – Wildcats’ fans are waiting for Sean Miller to make his first Final Four.

21. Duke (23-10) – How can the Blue Devils be a four-seed without Amile Jefferson? I’m serious.

22. Baylor (22-11) – It hurts to pick a team with 11 losses this high.

23. UConn (24-10) – A vote for the American Athletic Conference tournament champs.

24. SMU (25-5) – Don’t look for the Mustangs on your bracket. They’re ineligible.

25. Iowa State (21-11) – I had to pick somebody.

Dropped out: Iowa, Texas, St. Mary’s.
