LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Shepherdsville City Treasurer will have a hearing on Tuesday to fight for her job.

Gayla Bright says former Mayor Scott Ellis suspended her without pay, before he resigned last month. She had written a letter to Ellis and the City Council saying Ellis had acted inappropriately with her and other women.

Bright says Ellis then proposed that she be fired and she's been on medical leave from the stress of the harassment.

She has now been cleared to return to work. New Mayor Brian James says he's leaving the issue up to the Shephersdville Civil Service Commission.

The appeal hearing is scheduled to start Tuesday at 10 a.m.
