Crews respond to early morning fire in Prospect

LOUISVILLE Ky. (WDRB) -- Fire investigators are trying to determine what started a fire in Prospect early Tuesday morning.

The fire started just after 3 a.m. Tuesday on Gunpowder Lane close to Hunting Creek Country Club.

St. Matthews Fire Captain Dan Doyle says no one was injured in the fire. The woman who lived in the home heard something in the house and woke up to the fire. She grabbed her phone and went to a neighbor's house to call the fire department. 

Doyle says the fire may be electrical. There was construction underway in the home. There is a lot of damage inside the home, but the house was not severely damaged. 

Firefighters from Harrods Creek, St. Matthews and Worthington responded to the home.
