Police say he beat the victim using crutches and a kitchen chair.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police arrested a Louisville man authorities say choked and beat his female neighbor.
Jerry Madison, 60, was arrested Monday, according to the official arrest report. Police say the incident happened on March 3 in the 8000 block of Prestonview Lane, which is near the area of Trio Avenue and Preston Highway.
Police say the victim was friends with Madison's wife. Authorities say Madison knocked on the victim's door looking for his wife.
Police records say Madison then forced his way into the victim's home and "repeatedly beat her," using crutches and a kitchen chair. According to police, he then began choking the victim until she became unconscious.
EMS workers and police went to the scene, but the victim refused treatment at the scene. Police say the victim went to the hospital the following day and stayed there for several days due to complications.
Officials say Madison was recorded admitting to the offense. He is charged with assault and burglary.
He is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $20,000 cash bond. He is expected in court on Tuesday.
