Shepherdsville leaders hold first city council meeting in several weeks

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- For the first time in several weeks, the city of Shepherdsville held a city council meeting.

On Tuesday morning, five of the six council members showed up. The past two meetings were canceled because not enough council members showed up to have a quorum.

There is a pending lawsuit against Shepherdsville Mayor Brian James over how he was appointed to office after former Mayor Scott Ellis resigned over a sex scandal.

Five council members were at the Tuesday morning meeting, but two did not vote on advice from their attorney.

The council heard a first reading on a flood prevention ordinance and voted to solicit bids on the Alpha Way construction project.
