LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Bellarmine University could soon be getting a football field.

This is according to WDRB's partners at Business First.

The university has filed documents with Louisville Metro Government, indicating it wants to build an athletic facility that could include a football stadium and practice fields.

The school also intends to file an application to re-zone an area on Newburg Road and Champions Trace Lane.

A university spokesperson says the idea of adding a football program has not yet been brought to the Bellarmine University Board of Trustees for a vote.

The plan will be discussed at a neighborhood meeting on Thursday, March 31 at 7 p.m. at the Almost Family Caretenders building on 4545 Bishop Lane.
