Crowds show up for free Easter event at Shawnee High School

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Wet weather didn't keep the crowds away from a free Easter event in the Shawnee neighborhood this morning.

It included 10,000 candy-filled Easter eggs, 50 bikes, and other free prizes.

"The most fun part is just planning for the children, you know, bicycles, candy," said Delando Jones, who helped organize the event. "We just like really just blessing the children. And everything's centered around the children. So that's the most exciting part about working with the community."

The free family event also featured entertainment and food. It was held on Shawnee High School's football field.
