LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- LMPD released more details on the story Monday afternoon, calling the incident a murder-suicide.

Lt. Todd Kessinger said Brad Hettinger, 33, shot his wife, 32-year-old Billie Jo Hettinger and two kids, a 4-year-old Courtney and 5-year-old Colin, before setting fire to the house and then shooting and killing himself.

Baptist Health, where Billie Jo Hettinger, worked, released a statement Monday:

We extend our heartfelt sympathies to co-workers, family and friends after this tragic loss. Billie Hettinger touched many lives with her kind and caring demeanor, and she will be greatly missed by her Baptist Health Family.

Police were alerted to the home after the in-home security system and fire alarm were activated automatically.

At this point, police are not willing to comment on a motive.
