LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man accused of stealing an SUV from a gas station Tuesday morning told police he had a good reason for taking it.

According to the arrest report, Brian Dean was stopped on Taylor Blvd. in an SUV that had been reported stolen. During questioning, police say Dean admitted to stealing the SUV from a gas station on Stone Street. Police say he told officers he took it so he could go to a job interview and was going to return it afterward -- but Dean admitted he didn't know the victim.

Dean also told officers that he and an unnamed accomplice broke into a residence in the 3400 block of Glendale and took several items.

Dean is now charged with theft by unlawful taking (automobile) and burglary.
