Child hurt in shooting in downtown Louisville
Police are investigating after a child was injured in a shooting on South 10th Street near West Chestnut Street.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police are investigating after they say a bullet grazed a five-year-old boy on South 10th Street near West Chestnut Street.
The shooting incident occurred happened about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday near Village West apartments.
The child was not the intended target in the shooting and suffered non-life threatening injuries, said Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell.
The child was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital by a private vehicle, Mitchell said.
The police homicide unit is investigating. Officers scoured a large area in search of a shooter and possible evidence late Wednesday afternoon.
